The Price

Every dream has a cost, every want has a weight.

There are only two ways to get what you desire,
You give up more, or you lower the fire.
You give more of your time, your sleep, your days,
Or want a little less from all that you chase.

But we spend our lives looking for a third,
A way to get more without giving the world.
To keep all our wants, yet give very little,
To reach for the stars while staying in the middle.

But life doesn't bend, and life doesn't wait,
Every dream has a cost, every want has a weight.
You can pay with your time, you can pay with your pain,
Or let go of something you wanted to gain.

The choice isn't easy, but the truth is quite clear—
You pay with your effort, or pay with your fear.
So choose what you want, and accept what it takes,
For nothing worth having comes without some stakes.

You can ask for more,
or you can give less.

But you cannot have both—
and call it success.
